Lenny & Larry’s cookies! The ultimate review!
When it comes to protein, it’s a very difficult macro to obtain in the large quantities needed. I believe the reason for that is because protein has limits to its sources. Plus…most Protein just doesn’t taste that good. Not to mention there’s only a few forms of protein that most people eat especially myself. You have chicken, turkey, steak, eggs, fish and possibly some other little things like pepperoni and some cheeses.
Now these are all good choices and I do eat them myself; however, sometimes you get a hankering for something sweet. And what can you turn to that doesn’t contain a ton of fat, carbs and very little protein? The answer my friends – Lenny & Larry’s protein cookie!
The cookie themselves are macro heavy and for the most part you’re looking at 16 grams of protein per cookie. Now don’t get me wrong that’s 16 grams comes at the expense of a 2 serving cookie. What I mean is one cookie is equivalent to two servings, which is equal to 8 grams of protein per serving. So when you look at the actual macros on a Lenny & Larry’s cookie the whole cookie itself is 16 grams of protein but believe me it’s a very large cookie. The downside to this is that you’re looking at approximately 30 grams of carbs in about 7 grams of fat per serving which amounts to 60 grams of carbs and about 14 grams of fat per cookie. That being said, I use these cookies as a meal replacement or as a snack when I need carbs and when I need to protein. Believe me though, these are great tasting cookies and you could never tell that they had 16 grams of protein in them. Most pastries that I have eaten with protein are not very tasty.
Some other things of note about these cookies are that they’re vegan and kosher, there’s no GMO, there’s no soy, dairy, egg or trans fats. So for those of you who are trying to eat really clean
, these are good for you as well.
